The kittens were vaccinated last weekend with their first set of kitten shots. However, I have noticed this week that Richie is acting different.

Before the vaccines, he was a typical rambunctious little kitten. He ways always playing and rough housing with the others.

However, this week, I noticed he is now withdrawn. He rarely interacts with the other kittens and when he does, it is not with the same energy. Instead, it is more hesitant. Same thing with playing with toys. He only lightly plays with them a few minutes and stops. He also wants to be held more.

It is almost like he has take 2 steps back developmentally, at least mentally. Can kitten vaccines cause this change? Is it permanent?

I stopped vaccinating my cats as it made them so sick. From the next day for at least a week they were hiding, withdrawn and not eating. My vet said she had never heard of vaccinations making a cat sick before but after the third year I stopped. Seeing as it was not just one cat but every single one of them, I figured it wasn't worth putting them through it every year, so therefore, yes, anything is possible.

That is what I initially thought. He is eating normally. It just seems like his personality changed. I will call the vet in a few days if I don't see any improvement.

Last night I saw some improvement. Even though he is still not back to being a very active kitten, he did initiate playing with the others. He was wrestling with all of them. Hopefully within the next few days, I will see him running around like the others.
