I inject Roma with Caninsulin 40U with syringes 40U.Would like to switch to syringes 100U.It means I have to multiply 40U dose to 2.5?Foe example 2 u on syringe 40U will be 5u on 100U?M'I right?
Here's the math:
A U-100 insulin has 100 units per mL.
A U-40 insulin has 40 units per mL, so it is only 40% of the concentration of U-100 insulin.
A U-100 syringe needs all the tick marks adjust by 0.4 (40%) when using a U-40 insulin
Therefore:
tick * adjust = U-40 dose in units
0.5 * 0.4 = 0.2
1.0 * 0.4 = 0.4
and so on.
I used to just add up the 0.2 per half unit tick mark until I reached the dose I needed.
