I give 1.5 units in a U-40 needle.

How much is that in a U-100 needle?

Hope my question is OK.

I haven’t been here in a while, it’s been very rough.

Your question is fine!

It looks like your using Prozinc which is a U40 insulin and is best used with a U40 syringe. Are you having trouble locating U40 syringes? It is generally recommended that you use the same "U" syringe that matches the "U" of the insulin you're using. The "U" relates to the concentration of the insulin. This link has more information on converting the syringe and underscores why this can be problematic.

Yeah sorry but I’ve read everything and I don’t understand it at all.

Prozinc. I usually use U-40. They’re sold out everywhwre and it’s a saturday. I’ve already ordered more online. But I have to use U-100 until then.

You would measure to the 3.75 line on a U-100 syringe (so halfway between the 3.5 mark and the 4.0 mark, assuming the u-100 syringes have half unit markings). You’ll have to eyeball it.

You can not draw exactly 1.5 units. You can draw either 1.4 or 1.6. Look at the chart. It says to draw 1.4 units of U-40 insulin, draw your u-100 syringe to the 3.5 mark. The it says, to draw 1.6 units of U-40 insulin, draw your U-100 syringe to the 4 units mark. So, yes, you can try to eyeball it between the 3.5 and the 4 on your u-100 syringes as long as they have the half unit markings and you can draw the plunger between the 3.5 mark and the 4 mark. This will get you the closest to your 1.5 unit dose.

To clarify, the math for the conversion is as follows.

To measure u-40 insulin in a u-100 syringe, you multiply your current u-40 insulin dose by 2.5. That tells you where to draw on the u-100 syringe.

For example, your 1.5u dose of Prozinc would be drawn to the 1.5u mark on a u-40 syringe *OR* the 3.75 “line” of a U-100 syringe. Sometimes you have to eyeball between lines—since there’s no actual 3.75 line on a syringe, you just measure half way between the 3.5 and 4 lines.

1.5 (u-40 dose) * 2.5 = 3.75 mark of u-100 syringe

Always speak in terms of actual dose, not where you drew to on a mismatched syringe.
