Five days ago Can't believe it is 5 days since the last update. Hopeless is what I am.
So. I have finally moved Ty's night-time quarters from the ensuite guest bedroom to the smaller spare bedroom. The carpet is complete covered in tarpaulin. There are litter trays, puppy pads and the like. A couple of his comfy cat beds . Dusty gets to share this dubious palace but at least she is able to sleep on one of her blankies on the bed. She is there with him as I don't like the thought of him being by himself. I just don't.
It also meant moving husbandits skanky civil defence, sport and tradesman work bits, bobs and unspeakables from that room & wardrobe** to the guest bedroom double wardrobe**.
I found ......stuff. Stuff went to the washing machine on boil setting or in the binbag.
** --- in the interests of international translation this means 'closet' I believe. Closet to me is an old-fashioned term for loo as in po. The po was in the closet.
It is hard to have Ty holed up of a night. For the past 19 years me and him have slept virtually nose to nose. However it is practical & he can no longer get onto any bed , let alone safely get off one.
The poo goes on. The poo does not go in a po in a closet. As for many geriatrics it is a case of needs must , right now & this looks a comfy cat spot for a bony rear end to hunker down. Sometimes a litter tray is in the frame. After a lifetime of outdoor ablutions , the garden remains fave although husband sometimes finds himself mowing the offerings. The logs for the most part elude me.
The vet phoned me this morning. He's a good bloke. He read my note to him about Adequan and is interested. There is something very similar here mostly used for horses and dogs BUT can be used in cats. He has named something else which may also be of interest in that way.
Ty has not gained any weight back despite eating like there is no tomorrow. It is not the ravenous of diabetes. That is a different type of hunger display. He is around 4.6kg (10lbs) . He should really be around 5.3kg ( nearly 12lbs) for his size and age. Ty is very angular, bony, skinny around his spine , hips and rear legs so it is not surprising he finds it hard to control his weak rear right leg
Anyway, we shall discuss the pancreatic insufficiency as the time may be now for that test. Also he will get a full check up and bloodwork tomorrow morning.
ps - I'm actually relieved that me and Ty will see the vet tomorrow. It is support , guidance, help & care.
