so I'm working on his curve today since we've had 4 mornings at 1u, and most evenings at .5.

1. how often should I do a curve, I think i saw in an article every 2 weeks?

2. Tux seems to be doing well, he is in good spirits when he is awake. he is 15 years old, and sleeps about 21-22 hours of the day.

he is getting sneaky and finding new sleep spots during the day when I would check on him lol

he eats 3 cans a day, fur is still all funky which i hope will go away.

I've noticed some days his joints pop/snap

It seems for him I shouldn't give 1 unit when under 175, maybe .5 unit from 165-175

I can't really dose .25/line very easily on a u40 needle without an air bubble on vetsulin even .5 can be a challenge using the various tricks everyone has shared.

I do have a pen of glargine I was given, so when vetsulin runs out, I could give that a try, it doesn't expire until next year so I have time.

day 18

They do have u-40 syringes with half unit markings which will make it a lot easier.
Try over drawing on the syringe and then twisting the plunger to let the insulin out to where your dose should be keep flicking the syringe with your finger to let the
air bubble out.

If you do switch to glargine you know you will need U-100 syringes with half
unit markings
