I have dropped her down to .25u BID the last couple of days to see if the higher, flatter numbers I was getting on .4u was due to too high of a dose. After a couple of days on the .25 she doesn't seem to be moving much.

12/6 AMPS 316 .25u
+3 328
+5 265
+8 256
+10 307
PMPS 321 .25u
+4 293
+8 293
12/7 AMPS 338
+5 257

I was afraid perhaps my insulin had gone bad. It's been a little over a month since I opened it. I have a new batch arriving today.
Should I continue the .25 of the "old" insulin in hopes that she settles into it with numbers like she did 11/22-11/28? Or should I start the new insulin right away?
I don't think the PZI should go bad so fast. My inclination is to leave her on the "old" insulin for a few more days. If I start her on the new stuff and she improves, I'll never be sure if it was because the old stuff was bad or whether I didn't give her enough time to adjust to the dose. However I don't know how risky it is to do this if the insulin really has gone bad and she continues to have these numbers in the 300s.

Any thoughts?
Thanks!

Either way. If you going to stay with the old insulin, I think I would try for a fat .25. You are looking for somewhere around .3, a little below .4 Nice smile curve but numbers not where you want them.

If you start the new insulin, I would be tempted to start with .25 (in case the old was pooping out) You can always raise if the numbers stay the same.

That sounds like a plan...I'm going to do a fat .25 with the original insulin and watch it for a couple of days. If no improvement, I'll try the new insulin at .25 and take it from there.

Thanks Sue!

In looking at your SS I am going to suggest going to .50 and stay there for a few days
Looks like one might have been too much and .25 is not enough

Problem is, her numbers on .4 were higher than her numbers on .25...thought either insulin was going bad or rebound, so I brought her back down to .25 to see. She was not going any higher on the .25 but no lower either. Bumping up to fat .25 may have been effective - AMPS 267 this morning! I'll get more data this PMPS and throughout the night and see what shakes out.
Thanks!
