Tucker is now on Lantus...

Tucker started on Lantus today. It was 349 when I gave his first 1U shot at 6PM. +3 tonight and BG is 165.
I didn't expect a change until his shed was full...... He ate a 1/2 tub of LC Wiskas about 6pm too.
Any ideas?

Some cats do have an immediate response to a change in insulin. It looks like Tucker's first day at home while on Humulin N, he also had a positive response. I'd give Tucker a teaspoon or two of low carb food to slow things down. I'd also suggest getting a +4 test.

When you have some time, please take a look at the starred, sticky notes at the top of the board. They'll help you to understand Lantus as well as some of the conventions of this board.

+4.75 tonight Tuckers BG is 65. I gave him about a teaspoon of gravy from Gravy sensations food.
Boy, he must be sensative to the lantus.

+5.5 BG is 76
