Emma's PS BS has been going down a little each day since I eliminated all dry food from her diet and started feeding her low carb (3%) canned food only. Last night her PMPS was 110. I waited an hour and measured again - 92. So I didn't shoot. This morning (after she free fed about 2.5oz of canned food overnight) her BS was 92. I was nervous the meter was on the fritz so I measured my own BS and it was normal. I was able to catch some morning urnine, and that was negative for glucose. Her water intake and urine overnight has not increased. Am I missing anything, or does this look good??

This is looking great! We consider a kitty in remission if they range from 40-120, off insulin, with the majority of the time in double digits, for 14 days. Then we say they are officially OTJ! So you can start your countdown.

Continue to monitor. If you start getting numbers in the +150 range, post and ask for help. Remember once a diabetic, always a diabetic, so no dry food ever again!

Thank you!!! I am so excited I could burst. Actually I did burst into tears this morning when she was still low! I will def keep monitoring, and will NEVER feed her dry cat food again. Thanks so much for the encouragement. I couldn't have gotten this far without this forum, that is for sure. I hate to think where she would be if I had followed the vets advice re: food and monitoring. I will keep you all posted!

Thanks to all for the encouragement. She's still holding low with no insulin...in the 120s last night when I got home from work and this morning when I got up. She free feeds and I'm not sure when she had eaten prior to these numbers. Today I'm home and will test a few times throughout the day.

Way to go Emma! :RAHCAT You can doooo eeeeet!

How does it happen, btw? They just start evening out on the lower numbers at some point?

Thank you all so much for encouragement and kind words! I got a little scared when I got a 156 earlier today, but a couple hours later she was down to 111. Her little pancreas is doing it's thing!! I could not be happier and hope it continues!!
