I just wanted to let everyone know that the True brand meters are now offering a full rebate on their meter kits. I bought a true2Go meter kit this week for 9.99 and can get the entire price back from their rebate offer. You get the meter, lancet device, ten lancet inserts and even ten test strips! I tested the True2Go aganist my precision and Freedom lite meter and they were all within ten points of each other. The True2Go is very small and easy to use. However, it only gives BG readings and has no date system. It doesn't do averages either. Since it is a freebie it may be good for a back up or for someone who does spreadsheets anyways.

They also now have a full rebate offer for the Trueresult meter that does have a date stamp and averages. That kit also has ten test strips includedm

I had that meter when we first started and I and others have found that while they read close at low numbers, they get drastically further apart in the higher ranges. Hocks has a great deal on the Infinity meter, $20 for the meter kit (w/ 10 strips) plus a box of 50 strips.

You generally can get better deals on the internet than buying from a local retail store. However, if someone is newly diagnosed or their meter dies sometimes you need something immediately. I had a TrueResult before this True2Go and it measured within twelve points of my other two meters even when Nomad was in the 300s. Fortunately I never had to use it with numbers any higher than the 300s.

Accucheck also has a free with rebate offer now at CVS. However, there strips are more expensive.
