My wife and I have a motorhome and travel extensively in it. Of course, Ingerbod, our diabetic cat goes with us. I was wondering if anyone could advise me about any negative effects the typical "bouncing" of a motorhome might have on the Lantus sitting in the refrigerator. Does this insulin loose effectiveness if on the shelf in a moving motorhome? Should it be "cushioned" in order to minimize the shaking effect?

Honestly I have no clue but wouldn't think it would have much affect on the pens since they are designed to be carried by humans and are vacuum sealed so the liquid doesn't slosh around. The vials I suspect need to be a little more stable when travelling. Plus we mail insulin all the time and a motorhome can't be nearly as bad as the Postal Service.

You might want to pose the same question on TR Lantus as they are a larger group and I know several do travel and camp with their diabetic cats.
