Has your cat traveled in this manner before? If so it shouldnt be a problem. If not ...I dunno...I suppose it depends on how he travels. Dose he fuss when you put him in a carrier when going to the vet? That would be a good indicator. My 17 year old cat, Jaguar was just diagnosed. We have a 5th wheel that we frequently take to personal property. Does anyone travel with their cat? Would that cause extreme stress if we take him with us so we can administer his insulin??? Thank you.
Thank you!We have some members that travel with their cats. I would recommend getting either a pet crate or covered playpen to use at the beginning and also take some short day trips to get him used to traveling. The crate is to help keeping him from escaping as you are going in & out of the trailer. Once he adjusts to it, you probably will not need it.
Home testing is something that we can help you learn how to do. You can use a human glucose meter. There are also pet glucose meters, but they are more expensive to use. It is just a personal preference for which one you want to use.We are not home testing yet. I believe we are taking him back in after we get into a routine. This is so overwhelming - especially with the COVID-19 mess. We are not meeting with the vet in person - it’s all over the phone - so it difficult to communicate.
