We are traveling out of town tomorrow and since everyone in the family is also going, we have no one here to give Baby her shots. We are going to have to take her with us, but she howls the entire time she is in the car, which will be close to 4 hours there and 4 hours back. This isn't good for anyone involved.

Our idea is to give her some baby benadryl so she can sleep. Not sure how much to give or if there is a better idea. Anyone have advice for me?

Have you ever let her loose in the car? China used to howl like crazy (and with a Siamese voice, she can howl) but when I took my mom to Branson last December, I put her into a harness and let her have run of the back seat and she did MUCH better

Well then about the only other suggestion I have is to put her in a crate with some puppy pads inside and put the carrier on the floor of the car and cover it with towels/blankets. They tend to ride better when they're on the floor and can't see outside so much

I use Rescue Remedy For Pets (you can use the one for children too, as there is no alcohol in those formulas) when I travel with mine.
