My husband and I are thinking about taking a trip to the mountains with sweet Booger and wondered if anyone could offer suggestions on packing insulin and traveling with it. We would be making a 4-5 hour trip and staying about 3 nights. I know they sell cold packs and travel cases at ADW online, I just wondered if anyone had any personal experience with any of them. My concern is the insulin freezing. Thanks in advance.

Hi,
My husband and I have taken Hank 4 times now out for the weekend to our camper at our permanent campsite. It's only 45 min. away though. I use a small cooler with 2 flat frozen ice packs and then sandwich the insulin (in the little box) in between them. Once out at camp, I store in my refrigerator till time to head home. I would think in a small cooler some ice packs would keep cold for a 4-5 hour trip. If you don't have access to a refrigerator once to your destination, I guess you'd need to have or get more frozen ice packs or keep getting bags of ice. Good luck and have a good trip. Hank meows all the way out to camp but once there he is calm and enjoys the views from the different windows in the camper.

Thank you. This could work as we usually do rent cabins. I've had positive experiences taking my dogs but I've not yet inquired about places who accept cats... We do some tent camping but that environment would not be appropriate for her as it would be extremely hot and loud with the four wheelers and probably scare her to death so we'll explore boarding/sitting options closer to spring.. Thanks again for your reply.
