Hi, Shadow's Family again. In the last couple of days, my house has gone from normal smelling to cat pee central smelling. OMG, help me!! Most times, he pees on a blanket, shirt, etc. lying on the floor, but I can't find anything like that or wet spots or ?? We have a small black light that is supposed to illuminate areas, but so far it has not helped (mainly just illuminates lint). I have Nature's Miracle ready in hand, but where do I put it if I don't know?

We did get a glucometer and he is running a bit high at 304. After watching the Lantus care and handling on this forum, we are picking up new vial today and will follow those recommendations.

Now, if someone has an idea for my awful smelling house!

Any possibility that he has been peeing in the air vents? I had one (civvie) who would pee in the floor vents. When the heat came on...let's just say it wasn't pleasant!

Check under furniture and behind furniture. Whenever we have a smell to track down thats usually where we find it. That or hes missing the litter box just outside of it and its pooling under the box itself.

Lisa and Spooky, I once had a cat who peed in the vents too -- ugh!!

The worst part is ... it gets to the point where your nose conks out and you can't even differentiate anymore, so everything smells like cat pee. sigh!

I have a Stink Finder I bought from Dr. Foster and Smith years ago and it's HUGE. It definitely works. Have you found any pee spots with your black light? Once you see one (and it will be obvious) you'll know what to look for. I used to use Nature's Miracle. One time I rented a carpet cleaning machine from the store and used Nature's Miracle in it instead of carpet cleaner. As it dries it "eats up" the pee because it's made of enzymes.

oh man, our boy cheddar used to pee down our vent's too .. yuckkkkkkk!! What we found really helped in that case was a few bag's of "rocks" from home depot .. they sold them in the cleaning care aisle, and they came in a net .. the "rocks" absorbed any smell and then could be put out in the sun and the smell would go away .. dropped a bag of those rocks down cheddars two most favorite vents and they almost took the smell away instantly ..
