Hi Everyone. Tootoo (yes, he's still in remission!) had his dental work done today. It was the thing I'd been dreading forever. I dropped him off this morning, and picked him up late this afternoon. He came home very happy. He said to tell everyone that it's really no big deal. The human should use the checklist that was provided here by one of you wonderful members. Ugh - I'll try to remember who it was. It listed all the things to check for before choosing the dentist. (I actually spent 30 minutes on the phone with a cat dental specialist whose name was on a list provided by the member here.) She went over the checklist with me too. We then decided that my local vet was the best option (the specialist being too far away). She knew them and recommended them. I covered the checklist with them, and all was perfect. He's home well and happy, with a happy mouth! Just wanted to give a little encouragement to those with kitties in need of dental. Oh - and the total cost ended up being less than the estimate. Nice.
The vet gave me some dental treats that I won't give because I'm sure they're high carb. They also gave me toothpaste. Anyone know if there is a problem with the toothpaste and diabetic cats?
