Help with some help interpreting his numbers. Not sure why he is bouncing all over. Do some cats just do that? I am using SLGS but not sure when to make moves.

Hi and welcome! I see many NS on your SS. That can cause the numbers to be all over because the depot hasn't had a chance to stabilize. Also, it would give you more information if you try to get one more test before bed. Most cats go lower at night versus during the day. We also increase or decrease by 0.25u. Do you have syringes with half unit markings? If not, you may want to buy some. It will help with those in between doses.

If you continue to post daily, many of us can help guide you and help you understand SLGS better so you can get the numbers to level out. :bighug::bighug:

Mandy,
Thanks for the insight. The main reason for the previous NS is that I wasn't sure what to do when Tooter had numbers in or near 100 or less. I work retail, so Nov/Dec were CRAZY work schedules. My life has returned to "normal" retail so hopefully I can get more test in the evening.

Thanks,
Julee

Hang in there Julee. Now that your schedule is more set and with more test, you'll get more information and will be able to see just what the present dose is doing. Is he going lower at night and bouncing? The more info you have the more the SS will start to fill in like putting together a puzzle.

Unfortunately, some cats are bouncers. The more they get used to staying in normal numbers, the bouncing slows down and for some cats stop all together. Some kitties bounce into remission.

If you need some help with how to follow the SLGS method, just post your questions on this forum. That 89 you saw a couple days ago means Tooter earned a reduction in dose down to 0.75 units. Those lower numbers he is seeing are causing him to bounce. As he sees more normal blood sugar numbers, he will get used to them and bounce less.
