Tonight's insulin dosing advice

Hello! Just tested Tigger and he was 169. His appetite hasn't been the best with wet food, as he's decided to become a snob. He is also a grazer. He just ate about 1/4-1/3 can of FF salmon pate, probably will go back for more. Should I still give his .75u of Prozinc? I haven't given insulin when he's been this low before, but I know that's not a completely regular number. I will be awake until only about +4 to monitor him. Advice? Thank you!

When you're not sure about a PS number, stall, don't feed and test again in 20-30 minutes. If the number goes up higher without food, it's usually safe to go ahead with the scheduled dose.

Have you fed him yet?

As long as you can test tonight, I'd stick with the .75 dose. The .5 dose didn't seem to get him into better numbers.

To give him the best chance at remission, we want him to spend as much time as safely possible in lower blue and green numbers.

Get a +1 and a +2 so if you need to intervene, you can do it earlier in the cycle.

A tip...the ProZinc forum can sometimes be a little slow. You can always post in the Health forum which gets more attention as well as here

Perfect! Thank you so much! I will definitely get two tests before bed tonight.

And that's good to know, I never am sure exactly where to post.
With how many posts I feel I've made though, you'd think I'd have it figured out :oops:
Sorry for always being so needy!
