I guess my question is what's next?

PLEASE forgive my lack of stats on his spreadsheet right now. I have many more numbers at home written on a pad of paper and need to update. However that aside, Austin has been doing an OTJ trial - and has maintained numbers ranging from 50 (sometimes below!) to no higher than 119 for the last 2 weeks.

For those of you who transitioned off insulin, do I stop BG testing as much? Maybe once a day or once a week? etc. I've searched but it doesn't seem like there are as many hard and fast rules about the end of the insulin routines. Also I have Austin on Methyl-B but his neuropathy is gone and he's back to jumping on our couch unassisted - can I take it away? Nervous!

I'm much better at lurking on this board reading and watching rather than posting just due to my work circumstances. So I have tapered off with updates but I'm here!

Fantastic! :thumbup :thumbup :thumbup

So now you wean yourself off testing, slowly but surely. We tested once or twice a day for the first week, then every other day, then once a week, then ocassionally. It is a hard habit to break. Just enough to be sure you don't miss anything.

Congrats we love those OTJ notices.

As for how much testing now....well.....Max has been OTJ since Nov 1st officially and I still can't break the habit, nor can he it seems, but we have worked it out that we now only test once a week. Although we really don't need to test that much any more but someone forgot to tell him that has he still demands a test that often...lol. ( I secretly think it is just for the treats now.)

But normally when I asked that question I was told, twice a day for 2 weeks, then once a week for a couple of weeks and then once a month or if something seemed off.

If he is OTJ and the neuropathy is gone then I think you would be safe to stop the B-12 as well.
