Hi everyone! Tommy went to the vet today. He needed to be current on all his shots so that we can board him when we go to Utah in October. Just to remind those when I started here, this vet was not happy at all that I was getting advice here, eating LC food instead of her "prescription" food she wanted for Tommy, and doing home testing as much as I was doing. I contemplated just going to another vet, but decided to give her one more chance and let her see how well Tommy is doing 11 months later. She was extremely impressed with how Tommy is. He gained just under a pound and she says that this is a great weight for him to be at. She checked him over and the only issue was plaque building on his back teeth and a little redness on his gums. She said that if he was on the dry food this would not have happened, ohmygod_smile Yah, whatever. Of course she reminded me that her food was better, but didn't actually have a problem with him eating LC wet food. She commented that Tommy was a poster cat for diabetes, and that he is well controlled. She said to just keep doing what I have been, COOL! As for the teeth, I asked if we should do a dental, but she suggested that since Tommy is so easy to work with, he even cuddled up to her, that I try brushing his teeth daily if I can first. I wasn't asked to schedule a recheck visit, so apparently she is trusting my judgment right now. (If his teeth don't get better I will schedule that appointment.) So, I want to thank all of you that have helped me and know that we all helped Tommy to be healthy enough to prove what we already knew was the right way to this vet!! :RAHCAT dancing_cat
