Hi all,

We haven't posted in a while, but after some twists and turns, Tommy, with help from a touch of R, had a breakthrough at 9.5U. There was one mutiny back up to 400, but other than that, he has been blue/green for a week, and has actually signaled for two decreases.

For quite a while it didn't seem that "Tommy" and "decrease" would be used in the same sentence...

Oh yeah, the neuropathy has visibly improved also.

Just wanted to pass along the good news, and appreciation for all the tips, tools, and encouragement from this community.

Congrats!!!

Since you're decreasing right now in 0.50u increments, if you don't think the reduction is holding, you could bring the dose up by 0.25u. Alternatively, you could consider decreases in 0.25u increments.

Did you test Tommy for IAA along with the Acro?

Thanks folks!

Sienne,

Did not test for IAA along with acro, but should have. We've been operating under the assumption that Tommy might have a mild-ish case of IAA. His SS definitely has some similarities with IAA kitties Black Kitty and Fiona, and it has felt like a battle against some kind of resistance. But a difference, suggesting "mild-ish", is that Tommy is more responsive to R: BK and Fiona would get 4 - 6U of R, and their bg would hardly budge; while for Tommy, 0.5 - 2U would usually cause a significant drop.

Good point about 0.25U increments. It makes sense that "fine-tuning" would be more important when trying to regulate, as opposed to when trying to get somewhere within range of a helpful dose.
