Borrowing a condo, visiting friends - old and new, just to give a little update about my favorite old guy.

Went to the vet today for a senior wellness check. Tom will be 18 in a few months, has been OTJ for almost 3 years now and his kidney values had deteriorated at his last checkup about 8 months ago.
I find he has been drinking more lately and with the Wellness recall, which they have been eating almost exclusively, I thought it would be a good time for new blood and urine work.

We will get the labs back in the next 24-48 hours and the vet will call me to discuss. She did say that he looks great, his heart murmur is stable and he has actually gained back some weight (yay!). He had been getting a little thin.

Will post back with results, think it might be time to start squids...have asked questions before, watched a teaching video but I am still very nervous about it.

At least he's not too upset about his visit anymore. He's currently lying down on my Ikea catalogue, "helping" me design our new kitchen ;-)

Great Tom report! I started squids on my 18 year old CRF civie, Miss Emily, and they have really heped her feel better and her BUN has come down since starting them.
