Tiny amount of fluid on tip of new syringe

I have been noticing that when I prepare a fresh syringe sometimes there is fluid on the tip when I press the plunger all the way in. To clarify, these are brand new syringes. After I remove the safety cap from the needle & the safety cap from the plunger I push the plunger all the way in. It is at this point that I occasionally see the tiny drop of fluid. I assume the fluid is lubricant, but I always discard the syringe just in case. Does this happen to anyone else?

I think that’s normal. It may help if you pull the plunger most of the way out and push it all the way back in to spread the lubricant around a bit before pulling any insulin. A well lubricated syringe is particularly helpful for when you have tiny dosing amounts. Unless you have reason to believe the syringes are contaminated, there’s no reason to throw them away.

Thank you for your reply, and the useful advice. I appreciate it.
