Time it takes to get glucose reading

I'm using an old credit card to snatch up the precious drop of blood (I feel like a vampire for writing that !) when testing. Can the blood drop sit on the credit card for several seconds before I test it? Are the numbers skewed at all by waiting 30 seconds or so?

(If I test the blood drop right away and let go of Freckles' ear, she flicks her ear and spatters the wall with mini blood droplets, so I've been putting pressure on the ear until the bleeding stops and then test within 30 seconds of gathering the blood drop).

I sometimes used my fingernail, same idea. No problem.

I can’t think of any reason why this would be a problem. We’ve had other members with the same issue if kitty flicking ears and some of them will put the blood on their nail.
