Tiffany,
I help to run a rescue called
Diabetic Cats in Need. I have received a PM from Jill and Alex asking me to look at your situation, as she explained in
your similar post on the Lantus ISG.
Rehoming a diabetic cat is not easy. Many people do not want to adopt a special needs (such as diabetic) cat, but DCIN tries and does have some successes with it.
If you could, please, send me the answers to the rehoming questions at the bottom of
this page. You can email them to me at ennis93 @ att.net. Also read the other information on that rehoming page, so you understand the process we will go through in trying to help find Tiggy a new home.
Finding Tiggy a new home will likely take some time. Please do not be discouraged by that possibility, and please continue to investigate alternatives other than DCIN to find him a new home. Please also consider continuing to try some of the suggestions you received to
your post last month. For example, having the vet check him for infections, Clomacalm (although I've never heard of it or used it), Prozac (which a DCIN foster cat is or has been on for obsessive hair pulling), the smart cat box (which you might be able to get as a donation through a request on
the Supply Closet or which DCIN might be able to help you afford), and diapers.
I look forward to getting an email from you, Tiffany, and doing what I can to help you find Tiggy a new home.
