Hi all...I ran a curve on Tigger this past Saturday and attached are his results. I'm thinking that he may need a dose increase on his insulin (Lantus), but I'm waiting to hear back from his vet. He is now eating the Purely Fancy Feast dinners that were recommended and thankfully he has been holding these down pretty well although on Saturday he did throw up. But I think that was more because he scarfed down his Young Again dry food when I put it down later in the afternoon vs. leaving it out for him to nibble on throughout the day. I'm hoping I can get some input from some people on his curve results while I wait to hear back from the vet. Thank you all!

I use Vetsulin so I don't know if it would be the same adjustment but my guess is the vet will raise the dose by at least .5 units.

That is almost a textbook curve, and well documented as well. If it was me, I would definitely raise by 0.5 units. Then monitor AMPS, nadir, PMPS for a few days to see if Tigger is coming down into the 150 range.

If he is stable eating, then he will respond by coming down across the range - lower values on all 3 tests. You are doing a great job testing him and keeping records.

Thank you vbc2000 and JeffJ for your responses. I finally figured out how to add the SS into my signature using the template from google. Since I work full time, I can only do the curves when I am not working so I took advantage and did it this past Saturday. One thing I always do though is check him at a minimum of 2x a day, I never ever give him insulin without knowing where his glucose is pre-shot. My biggest fear with him is a hypo episode. He has had days where he's only been injected once b/c his numbers were below 200. Once even in the 80s. But that didn't happen often. I think I will have my husband check him at the 6 hour mark to see if he reaches his nadir at that mark. I will keep monitoring his numbers and updating the SS daily. Hopefully I can regulate him. My hope was for him to go into remission but I don't think that is going to happen. He's on low carb wet food now and has been on the Young Again Zero Mature to graze on. I just received a sample of Dr. Elsey's Clean Protein Chicken (Dry) which from what I've read is just as good as the Young Again. So we shall see...Thanks again for taking the time to respond to my message.

No problem. You are doing all the right stuff. I know how challenging it can be to balance work and handling a sugar cat.

I used to work out of the house too. To get a non-preshot reading you could do PMPS then test right before you go to bed. Like a PMPS +4. That will give you an idea during the week if Tigger is getting some lower numbers after a dose, during the week. These days Theresa helps me. So those "AMPS -3 hours" tests are not from me. They do help give an indication of Leo's fluctuations.

That is a great idea, thanks. I will check it before I go to bed which will be about 3 hours after the PM shot.
