Hi, I am waiting to get a confirm on the ketone. The other one I did was wrong, as specified, and the last one was at least 5 minute old urine, although a better reading. My vet said when she is in the high numbers, don't panic if there are traces of ketones in urine. I just fed her the 1/4 can at +2 as normal and she should urinate shortly, soooo.

Although I am uncomfortable because I ketoned her 2 days ago and she was normal, so a trace is bugging me, and I will call him in am. :YMSIGH:

Testing for ketones isn't meant to freak you out but to give you peace of mind just like bg testing.

Trace ketones can be easily flushed out of her system with fluids so testing for them is an early warning system before they turn into full blown DKA which can be deadly and/or expensive if they survive.
