HI, I WAS UP WITH HER ALL NIGHT. I LOCKED HER OUT OF THE NOT WELL VENTILATED BATHEROOM, KEPT HER IN the living room and she slept on floor right under me who slept on the couch so I can hear her breathe. she doesn't get too close yet and right underneath me was a privilege to me. love her and I am crying. she was okay. she was still panting too much for me. Listen, I think it is uncontrolled upper resp. her mouth was open and congested. the meds are not curing her. I did switch the litter last night as well as keeping her well vented with me. it helped a little. I know when I suffer any smells bother me. I bought blue mountain walnut shell litter and it has no smell and kills odors too.
regardless, I brought her in and they admitted saying that the meds aren't working. she got worse. that isn't heart. this is all a f'ing upper resp. they need to really concentrate on her like I did with the diabetes and control this. I AM SO UPSET. I EMAILED THE RESCUE. I WANT HER BETTER WITH THIS CRAP. they are going to re-x-ray her. now not to mention he didn't call back and every time he doesn't call back, this occurs, where she is chronic. They said they have to play with the meds and see what is going on, so they admitted. she pooped and urinated and she was eating well right up until I took her in. her +4.5 nadir was 187, a little high, but for someone who is panting...

TIFFY! I'm sorry your meds aren't working. I'm really curious as to what this is - I've been struggling with one of my civies going thru this same breathing issue. I suspect litter too. He's now gotten 2 steriod shots to pull him out of serious attacks. Please keep us posted as to what they find.

BIG HUGE HUG!

Oh NO!!!! Not Tiffy!

If the vet thinks that steroids will help, just go ahead and give them. We can work the insulin dose around that.

Sending prayers and positive vines to Tiffy and you Theresa.

A friend of mine who runs a rescue says some of the infectious stuff out htere is getting resistant to the antibiotics and that prolonged courses may be needed. She kept one cat on azithromycin for a month!

I hope it has not worsened into pneumonia.

Sending purr's and prayers that they get a handle on this and she gets to come home soon!!

Theresa & Tiffy.
My heart goes out to you. Don't know about infections, but I believe that having you visit Tiffy as much as you can will help her. As well as, taking a sock & rubbing your skin oils (your hands) all over it & placing it in her cage will help her. Don't take NO for an answer. Do this often. Keep them on their toes! Make sure that the 'hospital' is staffed 24/7.
Best wishes, Sophie

I am going to take her to the animal medical hospital if need be by Friday. will give him one more chance. By the way Beejay kept asking if he did an x ray like a month ago, and now I am saying HE SHOULD HAVE AND YOU ARE RIGHT BEEJAY!!!!!!
Yes, she may be resistant, but culture on the blood and throat and x rays would have help her. A month ago Not now. ~O)

CR*P! I'd be reading the vet the riot act, given how much you've been contacting him about her not getting better.

When I brough Spitzer home from the shelter, where he'd been held 4 months on a humane case, he wound up spending a week at the vets, on 2 different IV antibiotics. His lung x-rays didn't clear for 6 months! I waited for them to clear before I felt comfortable getting him neutered.

What city and state are you in? Maybe we can look up some other vet near you that might be better.
