Tiffy - Question about Relion Glucometer

Hi, How many points is Relion different than alphatrak? Should I add on the approx. 40 pts that I was told Relion is shorter on or less on that Alphatrak; i.e. Relion is 248, then alpha is 288? approx. I mean. I just want to shoot her insulin correctly according to the chart I have. So according to my scale that would be 2 units for her.

Now, also, if I don't get enough blood on relion test stick, do I need to replace the stick with a new stick like with alpha?

and again, I want to double check, tonight at +5 I did a test on relion, she was 40, I said 80? (adding the 40 points on to get to alphatrak so I can relate) And I said, no. So I retested and I am glad, She was 244, so does that equal 288 on alphatrak? Adding on approx. 40 points? I just thought the 288 was high too for nadir. :?

Report your numbers from the Relion Micro exactly as the meter gives them to you. Post them on your SS exactly as the meter gives them to you.

You may want to insert a line on your SS that says you switched to the Relion Micro. Also, change your signature to strikethrough (it's the s command to the left of the youtube editing command above your reply box) the Alphatrak and add the Relion Micro in your signature.

There is roughly 30 point difference from the Alphatrak to the Micro. Subtract 30 points from your sliding scale. Type it in here and we will double check it for you.

If you get an error code with the Micro, you do need to use a new test strip. Test strips can not be reused. If you did not get quite enough blood, and there is not error code on the meter yet, you can SOMETIMES add a bit of blood to the strip. Doesn't often work, but occasionally it does.

Anytime you get a number that does not seem to fit the pattern, take another test to verify. That 40 looked strange to you, so you retested as you should have. Good job!
