Hi !!! so I want to give u guys a brief update. what I want to say is that her morning preshot was good on 2.5 pmps on 7/4. Thanks ~ beejay. Tiffy does better w 2s and 2.5s. 319 is low for her. I couldn't get a nadir last night. She was hissing me 2 death @ pmps which was like 460. She was. Resting peacefully at nadir and I let her rest. She lowered from 7/4 afternoon nadir. I will update ss later. I'm gone for the day but admin 2.00 on the approx 319 number ~ the numbers are approx as I'm on train without data ~ and gave her 3/4 can at shot w two large freeze dried treats. Love her 2 death. Muah. Then I left 1/4 can in cage when I left. Now I fur shot her too this morning and left it alone. She probably will b high @ pmps due to shooting threw. I had to feed her and as she was eating I bg'd her right away and then admin'd. She is hissing me for tests and it is her ear because she like blinks her eyes ~ almost like a wince. I hate it. I'm going to see if I could get another pain relief gel. Her high 400s and 500s dehydrate her. I started adding the powder ptassium back in food w l~lysine and I add a lil under 1/4 cup of water w ea serving of food. The last 2 days I have been putting 1/4 teaspoon of food in a lill over 1/4 cup of water so she drinks. Anyway her scruff stuck together when I tenteed her and it was so narrow plus she's skinny and I went right threw. Her hydration was so much better last week. I know it is important to bg @ nadir but due to her history of being high and we,re admining such low does I feel okay w letting her rest for a few.

These are your reference ranges for decision making using a human glucometer
< 40 mg/dL
- Treat as if HYPO
< 50 mg/dL
- If before nadir, steer with food
- At nadir, often indicates dose reduction is earned
50 - 130 mg/dL
- On insulin - great control
- Off insulin - normal numbers
> 150 mg/dL
- At nadir, indicates a dose increase may be needed
180 - 280 mg/dL
- Any time - The renal threshold (depending on data source and cat's renal function) where glucose spills into the urine. Test for ketones, glucose is too high.
>= 280 mg/dL
- Uncontrolled diabetes and in danger of DKA and hepatic lipidosis
- Test for ketones; more than a trace, go to vet ASAP.

Theresa,
I removed the "rainbow" icon so people wouldn't freak out.
We use the rainbow or the candles when kitties have "passed" (I.e. they have crossed the rainbow bridge).

Carl, Good thing you removed the rainbow before I got over to the PZI forum. I would have been crying in tears to see that rainbow with Tiffy.

Theresa, no candles either please. That is in remembrance of kitties that have passed.
