Tiffy 07/24/13 - pmps 377 - 3.5 UPDATE

Hey everyone. Tiffy had a cold or URI (really the start of). So he gave her a longlasting antibiotic injection. Her sneezing as of right now has ceased, but it has been 6 days. She is okay. She gained back the .25 she lost. That was due to the upper resp. She actually gained .75 lbs, So Tiffylovebug is 7.75 lbs and she is filling in. I'd like to see her 9 lbs.

He doesn't like her BG levels. We took her nadir in Dr's office and it was 385. He thought that was high. I gave 3.25 in amps. She made me raise her to a steady 3.5 and not below. So tonight really should have been 2.7 according to BJ's without atenonol scale. I raised her to 3.25 gauging on her nadirs, and He wants it higher. The atenonol keeps her high. So I was able to get a BG, So now I am adjusting. I hope I can get a nadir tonight.

She is wonderful though. Her and Abyss (the male) get along. Darma is mean to her, but after all she keeps urinating on her bedding, if I was Darma, I'd growl at her too.
She love walking around the full apt. I do put the gate up when I am not home due to Darma sleeping all over and I don't feel like having Tiffy say, Oh, Darma was here, let me Urinate on mommy's bed. Other than that, I feel great and Tiffy feels wonderful. I have her on Fortiflora, but they say it is not effective. The doctor said mix acidoph in with the fortiflora and it will work better. But if anyone has a nonsugar nondairy better probiotics, I am definitely looking for one.

I am mixing in the fancy feast with the Evo because of all the meds, I use the classics chix, beef, turkey, no fish, Thanks Carl. So let's cross our fingers. Kisses ~O)

Nice Tiffy update! :-D :-D :-D :-D

Has your vet thought about using a different insulin like Lantus or Levimir? Not all cats do well on the different insulins so I'm throwing that out there to see if your vet and you might like to consider this.

The Lantus and levimir are longer duration insulins, with some overlap on the dose. You base the dose changes on the nadir, not the pre-shots.

Some kitties get better control on the L insulins.

except i have been trying to get nadirs and she is hissing away at nadir. i am only able to get pmps's. also my schedule varies so lantus won't work. i can't run curves on her. she is very uncooperative these days. levamir builds up in the blood. you need a constant monitoring. Deb, they need to be able to just scan cat's glucoses, wouldn't that be wonderful, a belly scan or ear scanner? They are close to that technique with humans.
