Thumper - what to do about shot Sat. night

So as if Thumper's #'s aren't confusing enough I'm not going to be here for shot time Sat. night. The only people that have ever given her shot is DH or myself and we both have to be at the church 2.5 hrs before shot time. I don't see how we can leave the reception to come home to give her shot either. Any suggestions? Shoot early? Skip? By the time we get back home it will probably be about 6 hrs past shot time.

I can't believe you didn't think about shot time when you were planning this whole wedding thing!

OK, Option A skip shot - how many times have you had a fur shot over the months? Skipping the shot would be pretty much the same thing. Consider that history and how much time passed before Thumper "readjusted" to the missed dose.

Option B - early shot. You could approach it like this....back up shot time by 20 or 30 minutes for the next however many shots are between now and Saturday night? So in effect you'd be shooting at +11.5 every time. Then after Saturday you could do +12.5 until you got back to "normal" shot times.

Over the course of Bob's dance, there were multiple times when I had to change his shot time based on when I had to work, or when I had to leave for work. Normal was 6am and 6pm. but on the weeks I had to work at 5:30am, I just shot at 5am and 5pm.

There isn't a perfect solution. But we all do what we have to do when "life" happens, and we get up the next day and keep on keepin' on. No matter how you go, it'll take a few days to readjust, and then get Thumper back to her "normal" self. ;-)

If you are only talking about 3 hours early, I probably would get +9 test from now until Saturday, so I would have some idea of what "range" I expected Thumper to be in at that time. Assuming, she is rising at +9 as a pattern between now and Saturday----I probably would shoot a reduced dose early (3 hours) on Saturday. If I tested her and the number was not in a consistent range with what I saw between now and then---I would skip the shot and mentally say I gave a fur shot! But, if I could shoot the reduced dose at +9---I would then try to work the schedule back off of the +9. Maybe shoot at +10.5 next cycle, then +11 and so on until Monday morning.

Either way.....she will be fine...Enjoy the wedding.

I am going to be out of town next week and probably have to take Kitty to the vet and let them shoot her bid.....I don't want to, but....

I like Carl's idea of moving her shot time up a little and then you can shoot early and go enjoy the rest of the evening without having to worry about it, then move her shot time back.

Well, moving it up would work out BUT that would also mean on Sat morning I would have to get up @ 3:30 to feed & shoot by 4:00....I don't think that's gonna happen!

Carl, I honestly don't think I've ever had a fur shot!

C'mon, it isn't like you're going to be able to get any sleep the night before the wedding anyway!

Well, if I come back next life as a sugarcat, I know who's garage I'm going to take up residency in then! ;-)
