I haven't had much time the last few days. FIL passed away early Sat. morning. DH is sick & I'm starting to feel like I'm getting it to.

I once again have no idea what to do with Thumper. It is really starting to get on my nerves. I feel like there's nothing I can do for her. I updated her SS and I don't know what to do next. She's getting red PS's so this morning I decided to lower just in case it is a bounce. I haven't been able to get many mid cycle #'s cause we have been out of the house so much. Should I stay at the 1.6 even though she's getting red PS's? I'm really about at the end of my rope here. It is a constant struggle, we have good #'s for awhile then she goes wonky again. I'm exhausted mentally & physically.

I am so sorry about your FIL. I will keep you in my prayers.

I can't give you much advice on Thumper, but I understand your frustration. If this dance isn't hard enough, the added emotions you are experiencing make it even more difficult.

Once again, I am sorry......

Love ya....

Hi Barbara,
I am so sorry for your loss. you and your DH are in my thoughts and prayers
I looked at Thumpers SS and I am thinking he had a little boiunce and maybe
you should either hold the 1.6 or maybe 1.5.
With everything going on I know how trying to deal with Thumper
can seem even more overwhelming
Hang in there

I'm soooo sorry about your FIL. I know how overwhelming a time like this can be.

Take care of yourself, DH and your family. We will get Thumper back on track later.

I am so sorry for your loss. Sounds like you all could use some rest. I wish I could send you some chicken soup! I think you should give yourself a break from trying to figure Thumper out. Just get the preshot numbers, shoot a set amount, and put it as a project on hold for awhile while you give yourself a chance to recuperate. Sending lots af good vibes and hugs!

So sorry Barbara, about your FIL.
Hang in there! Sometimes I'm frantic about Alex when I see those "red' numbers, but bottom line, we're doing the best we can.

I'm so sorry for your loss, Barbara. Please accept my sympathy.
I peeked at Thumper's SS and it looks like somewhat of a bounce to me.
Maybe you should try just holding the dose a few more days and see what happens at least until you and hubby feel better.
Try to rest and take care of yourself.

I tried shrinking the spreadsheet and just looking at the color patterns to see where you got greens. Those seemed to be more likely when you were shooting something less than 1.5 units. Look at the tail end of September - beginning of October 2011. Unless there was something else that might explain that?

Maybe she'd settle more if the dose wasn't changed so frequently? She might be a cat that does beter with consistency - maybe go for 3-5 days at the same dose, with the same food, same supplements, same meds, same everything else?

((((Barbara)))) I'm so sorry about your FIL. I haven't been checking in much lately, sad to see there is sad news, and also that Thumper's numbers are a challenge again. My brain is too dopey these days to look at SSs much, but my general philosophy is - try lower dose see if that helps - try higher dose see if that helps - if you are still struggling, and neither of those helps, try another insuiln. That seems too obvious to bother saying, but sometimes it helps to look at it from a simple perspective? Maybe too like others said, don't worry about it too much right now, hopefully she is feeling ok and sometimes that's the best we can get. I forget if you've thought about another insulin, but if you are tearing your hair out with PZI, might be time to try another route? Just brainstorming...

Thanks for all the support! Service was today, it was a graveside service and was a beautiful day so we are thankful for that. I'm feeling a bit worse tonight, I was having to keep myself going but now have had it.

I have kept Thumper's dose at 1.6 & PS's are in the 300's now. I just don't feel like updating the SS right now.

I'm going to do a separate post but did you all know that DCIN has only sold 39 cookbooks????

Dearest Barbara,
please dont worry about anything but you and your husband right now

I agree, just worry about taking care of yourself and your family at this difficult time. You can put your dancing shoes back on when your ready.

Take care, ((((Barbara and family))))
