Remember that 20% variance, Barbara. Your number today isn't that much higher than yesterday. And you might be getting a little bounce if she went down into the 100s overnight. Don't get wrapped up in the numbers. She is feeling well, right - peeing, pooping, purring, playing? She is in safe numbers on a tiny dose of insulin.

I know it is hard, but breathe. This process is slow but steady.

I know. Thumper, Thumper what are ya doin'? After seeing those nice pre shots in the 100's, it's no fun to see yellow and pinks again. Sue had a good reminder though that Thumper's numbers aren't bad and she just may be settling into needing a little more insulin, at leas for now, still pretty low dose though. Looks like she's keepin her mama on her toes. Paws crossed for some nice #'s today on the .6u.

PMPS - 284 shot .6 again

I'm trying to shoot on her side but she does not like me "tenting" there. She's been trying to get away from me & yelling at me. I also find it more difficult to pull up enough loose skin. Any pointers?

Any way to shoot her side while she eats? Does she have enough skin you can lightly tent while she is standing? Oliver didn't notice shots while his head was deep in his breakfast.

She's gotten so she starts moving away as soon as I touch her while she's eating. That's how I did it at first & she never seemed to notice. She's always been difficult so I'm surprised at how well she's done. I didn't think I would be able to do this much to her! Tonight once I got enough skin to tent she didn't seem to mind when I actually put the needle in.

Would it help to shave a little area where you want to shoot? Or would shaving be impossible? You could use the clothespin trick for the shaving if you think it will help.
