Good morning, Rupert threw up is AMPS meal, which is very rare, and I am wondering what to do next. He seems fine otherwise, walking around, using litter box, etc. Do I feed him again, but just a small portion? I gave him 2.8 oz of Friskies Poultry dinner, he left about a tsp uneaten. He puked it all up, not just a little. :banghead:

Yes, I'd give him a little, mixed with water if he likes it that way. Maybe a few mini meals until his tummy settles down.

Who knows what impacts their system. Yesterday one grandson had an upset tummy - couldn't connect it to anything because there were just too many variables. Reminded me that even when they can communicate, you can't really tell what is going on....For Rupert, might be a hairball, or he gulped too fast.

Yep, Lynn, all you can do is ... punt. Like with a little bit o'food, like Sue said. (Don't you just hate it when they do that?) Bat-Bat hadn't done that in ages, then - of course, on a morning when she gets one of her "as needed" doses - whoops! - up it all came, right after she ate! So since it was so immediate, I just replaced her entire ration in 15 minute sections, bit by bit (added water). Thankfully, it stayed down. (Turned out, it was a bad can of food - freshly opened, too! - happens sometimes.)

Thanks for the advice, ladies! I didn't replace the whole meal, but did give him 3 small ones and he kept it all down. :cat: I think he just gulped too fast, even with the big plate, smooshed method. Agree, Robin, I hate when they hurl! I get all worried and anxious..."what's wrong?", "other health issues?", "bad food?" :nailbiting: *sigh* Thanks for the info, I will be better prepared next time! :bighug:
