So, I guess the methimazole trial has ended, it's been a disaster, she's completely stopped eating since on it…
I'm syringe feeding her and giving her fluids as well to avoid the worst.
Re fluids, I only give her 25ml/day. If I ever see that her skin takes time to go back, I give her an additional 25ml. Scared to give too much…She's a bit under 5kg now, although hard to say if the weight loss isn't mainly fluids.

Waiting to hear back from the new-new vet about the possibility to get meth compounded as a cream to apply on the ear, it wasn't available in France according to the vets back when Feloro had his own hyperT troubles…, hopefully it is here?
Is 0.2mmol ketones normal? When I tested her last week it was 0.1, so there's been a small increase.

I think that I can see her not feeling badly today, she stands up now and then, goes around the flat, explores the cupboard under the sink, and scratches the cat tree. She enjoys the fluids-not so much the syringe feeding…For that, I give her Hills a/d. Yesterday, she hardly woke up from her bed to pee…

It's so difficult to see her badly for so long… enraging that no vet has found a definite cause and cure as of yet! Then there also is the hyperT that has to be addressed…
I'm still waiting for the ultrasound report, I've phoned and emailed them, still waiting.

So sorry to hear this! I'm sure you're worried sick! Hopefully you will get the ultrasound report TODAY and will have a better idea of what's going on. Big hugs! :bighug:

Thank you Heather…
She's better, it's only been one skipped dose of methimazole, I do wonder now if it's really this medication that made her anorectic, it could also have been a coincidence…She came and ate some on her own, I'll keep syringe feeding her to make sure she gets all the calories she needs.
The new-new vet is out of the country and he'll be back in 5 days. But I got the phone number of a pharmacist who compounds medication, I'll call him tomorrow to ask for it. No idea if there are pharmacies that do that. Just got the name of this one person.

I think the increase from 0.1-0.2 on ketones is negligible, but this might help.
