Looks like he's starting to slide towards better numbers - fingers crossed he keeps heading that way!

When I said "starting to slide towards better numbers" what I should have said was "jumping off the cliff to better numbers" ;)

Yes!! But, of course, those springs on his feet are still there so I know what'll happen when he touches down.

BG at +8 was 7.3.

AMPS was 23.8. :banghead: Not surprised. I increased a tiny bit to 2.9 u just because he was sitting stagnant in pinks for so many days before yesterday's surprise. Experimenting, not dosing a bounce number. Will give a small snack before I have to leave at +3.

Have you worked with snacks to try to even out his cycles, Kris? It might take a curve to see when he starts to drop (usually) and again when he is generally lowest. So, give him part of his meal at preshot and then a little bit more early in the cycle and a little bit more at nadir? He doesn't seem to be a kitty who reacts wildly to food so it might flatten things out? I know he is very unpredictable, and you have him in generally very good numbers, but it might be a way to manipulate the cycle's up and downs a little?

Happy New Year!

Thanks, Sue. Yes, I've thought of that and have used snacks occasionally to control an anticipated drop after he's thrown a low number in a previous cycle. He always gets his lunch (a smaller meal) around nadir so that's covered during the day time. Where I can change it up a bit is between his breakfast and lunch or after his evening meal.

I can't really use an autofeeder with him because I have three kitties, Teasel's sister who needs hypoallergenic wet food, his brother who has a tendency toward "fluffiness" and Teasel himself. I know about the electronic chip feeders but that could get hopelessly complicated with three cats on three different dietary regimens. I'm all about balance in this game. :)

You know, I've wanted to try those electronic chip feeders. I actually thought it would be nice to have a little electronic chip "house" for my cats...like a little cage with a door controlled by the chip. Then I could put food in there to keep them from being freaked out by a moving bowl (because I think they would be) and maybe even a litter box so I know for sure who is going how much. Haven't found anything like that out there, but it's a nice thought.

Happy New Year, Kris!

Wouldn't that be a great device! Happy New Year, Rachel!
