It seems so much has happened lately to so many of our kitties, it was only a matter of time before it came around to us. We had 2, yes 2, surgeries on Thursday. Alley was playing with his best bud, Gidget last Sunday and it turned ugly, he came out of it the loser. His lower lip swelled up something awful and had to be lanced, what a mess, poor Gidget has been avoiding him ever since, she feels guilty.
My other boy,not as lucky... Little Al has always had a bad eye since he was a kitten when we found him living in a gopher hole. He was always blind in his eye, but lately it seemed to be buldging, it had to be removed, and our vet found a tumor behind it. He is pretty sure he got it all and it was sent to a lab for biopsy, we will know more within a week. Chances are it will return. They both have cones on and it is a a relief to see them navigate their way around the house.
When I know all that is happening with Klinger, Jeddie, Musette and all the others, I know I can handle this.
Good luck to us all..Happy Memorial Day everyone.

Oh, Pam, I am so sorry to hear that you had two emergencies to deal with. Poor boys.

I do hope that they got the entire tumor and there will be no return of it for Little Al. I guess it was good that he was always blind in that eye. Cats seem to do well with one eye and even OK with total blindness. Does the vet suspect a certain type of tumor?

And I sure hope Alley is feeling better soon. Did he need stitches? If you can prove that Gidget feels guilty, I'll eat my hat! I don't think cats feel guilty about anything. Ever.

You should try and get video of the two of them with the collars. Some day you can look back and laugh - I hope!

(((Pam))) I hope Alley heals quickly and feels better soon. Gidget will makes amends with Alley. I think it's sweet that she feels guilty, although I'm with Sheila - I've never seen a cat own up to doing anything wrong.

Poor Little Al! Living in a gopher hole. How lucky he was that you found him and gave him a furever home. We used to have a neighborhood cat, Corky, that was a total Tom Cat to the core. He loved a good fight. He ended up with one eye, I guess he lost that fight...never did see "the other guy". I know it's not the same as Little Al's situation, but Corky did just fine with one eye. I hope they got all of the tumor and Little Al has no more issues.

Sending your furbabies healing thoughts and vibes. :YMHUG:

Thanks everyone for the good thoughts...Gidget has hid under the bed since Alley came home, only to venture out for food and litterbox time. While I hope she feels bad, you're both right...nah, the cone is scaring her I am sure. Counting the hours until they come off! Litle Al keeps getting stuck under the daybed because of the cone. Vet could not identify what type of mass Little Al had but he said in that place it is usually not good. No stiches were required for Alley, but he had to be lightly sedated for the procedure, which we all know can cause problems.
I just can't help thinking Little Al would make a good pirate come Halloween...AARGH!
Positive thoughts, positive thoughts.
