The best and quickest place to get ProZinc?

So, Skipper is back on the juice. The vet didn't have any Prozinc so they sent me home with two 1.5 doses of another kind. I need to order Prozinc quickly at the best possible price. I never needed to order before because we never finished the bottle that came home with us from the vet.

Welcome back! sorry you have to be here. :? Some people say Costco carries ProZinc; apparently not every Costco, but you don't have to be a member for the pharmacy. Other than that, you can only get it from the vet. Seems like he should be able to order it overnight?

You can try another, local vet's office if the CostCo doesn't pan out.

Overnight shipping will cost you, but there are a number of online veterinary supply companies. Google search results

I have a Costco membership so I will give them a call. The vet will give me a script. They were going to get me a price but I was going to look as well. I'm going to have to head to Walmart for more test strips anyway.

Costco has it for $113 and I can go get it so I dont have to pay shipping. Apparently, walmart pharmacy can't get it.

My 15 year old cat Midnight was diagnosed about 2 months ago. He is up to 3 units twice daily. After an agonizing few days of learning how to give the injection without losing most of it, I am finally comfortable with the injection process. My greatest fear is that after I leave for work Midnight may have a hypoglycemic episode. My question is what is the amount of time after he gets his insulin that the risk of a sugar drop passes?

Kathy, are you testing your kitty's BG at home before you give the dose? And are you using ProZinc?

I didn't see that you've re-posted on the main Health forum, so I am going to attempt to answer that question for you before I go to bed ...

If your kitty is on ProZinc, the lowest blood glucose level (nadir) after a dose usually happens somewhere from 5 to 7 hours after the dose is injected - but some cats hit their nadir point earlier than that. (Every cat is different/ "ECID")

We do not recommend you shoot insulin into your cat unless you test the blood glucose first to make sure your kitty's blood glucose is at a safe level.

Hi Kathy, Midnight is a handsome boy! If you are using ProZinc/PZI why don't you start a new thread in this forum and tell us about Midnight. Let us know if you are home testing and with what meter, what and how much you feed and if he has any other medical problems. If you are using a different insulin, let us know that and we can direct you to the proper place to post your questions.
