Hi, everyone. I just wanted to say THANK YOU to everyone who has ever posted messages out here, and responded to my posts too. My furry child Emma crossed over to the Rainbow Bridge on Friday 5/11. About a month ago, she went into remission for the 2nd time, but unfortunately a kidney issue finally took her life. She stopped eating and drinking water, so I held her, told her how much I loved her, and the vet euthanized her. I know she is in heaven right now with my Dad, playing with all the other fur babies that have crossed over to the Rainbow Bridge.
When Emma was diagnosed back in 2009 with diabetes, I felt SO lost and scared. My vet hospital was very supportive but there were times, especially at night, I would surf the net trying to learn everything I could about feline diabetes. And I found this website. I learned so much from all of you, and it made my journey with Emma so much easier. I always recommend this website to those people who I hear have diabetic cats, and those that don't, because I learned a lot of non-diabetic information too. This is a great forum and user community that I look forward to surfing for many years to come.
So today, hold your fur babies close and tell them how much you love them. I still have my furry son Sparky with me, and I pray he stays healthy and happy with me for many years to come.
I was so blessed to have had Emma in my life for 3 1/2 years. She was a rescue. I found her one day on my back deck, looking hungry. I figured she was someone's cat in my condo complex. A few weeks later, she showed up injured. I called my local animal control officer as no shelter will take an injured animal. So they picked her up, got her medical care, and bought her to a wonderful shelter. I kept in contact with the police officer and I asked her if I could visit Emma. She bought me to the shelter, and I thought it was such a cool place, I started volunteering there. And you guessed it. After Emma came out of quarantine, I adopted her
I miss her so much already. Just when I think I cried out all the tears in me, a few more come out. God Bless my little princess in heaven. Until I see her again....
