OK so I got a meter today for Sawyer the first attempt that testing him. I got good blood on the first poke and got a good reading. He was fine with it. Second time I went to get him and poked the other ear that went OK as well, though he was squirmy When I was trying to get the third one, he went full ballistic, and there was blood but it was all mine, and now he's hiding from me. Help

I had lots of tears the first few times I tried testing. :bighug::bighug: Good for you on getting a reading the first poke and second, that's better than I did. We do have a post full of videos and tips that might have something there to help you. Mostly it's just practice.

Are you rewarding your kitty for each attempt? Even if it's a failure? That's most important.

he is getting rewards for all attempts, good or bad. He still doesn't like me at all. this morning was a failure as well. We will try again later
I have watched the videos and read the post on testing guidelines and seen all the help. That's what pushed me to go ahead and get him a meter how hard could it be? Now I see. I hope he will get more used to it and I get better at it. I feel like I'm torturing him.

You're really not torturing him!! At the moment, he hasn't put it together that what you are doing will help him to feel better. I'd suggest lots of cuddles and ear scratches so he doesn't think that every time you're going to try to hold his ear that you're going to poke him.
