Test Strip Question - Contour Next savings anywhere??

I was using the Relion Glucose Meter on Squeaky, but we were having a hard time with it. It takes a lot of blood and often gives error messages. Squeaky's ear doesn't have a lot of blood! It's hard because sometimes it takes 4 pricks to feed that meter!

I also happened to have a Contour Next meter, and it takes a LOT less blood so we have much fewer ear pricks. However the test strips are very expensive. Like $1 a strip. Think 4 - 8 pricks a day and you can see this is not sustainable, but it is necessary.......

I got a coupon to save a bunch of money for twelve purchases of strips but the Safeway pharmacy says they don't think that the coupon is good for pets. And besides, I need a prescription for them!!!!????#### %%%%*****&&&&&

Does anyone know where I can buy them at a reasonable price without a prescription?
