Teeth problem

Hi all,

Will need some help, My cat was facing problem eating a day ago, she wants to eat put it seems she can not, also when she is sleeping there is mouth water running or dripping from her mouth. I always gave her treats after injection which she love it a lot, she when she grape it and trying to bite she spit it.

When she could not even eat her normal food i took her to ER, after check up vet said that she is dehydrate it and kept her on IV, all other labs and urian test was fine, today i brought her back . She eats her wet food but i tried the treats again and the same problem, she used to chew raw chicken which she likes a lot and again seems she can not.

Could the vet missed something, could she suffering from teeth pain??

Any experience with same problem?

Just what did your vet say about the condition of Meme's teeth?
About her mouth?
Could be teeth/gum problem or maybe a tumor.
Just not that it is hard to get a good look in many cat's mouths with sedating the cat.

The vets can only check what's obvious in the mouth since most cats don't like someone opening their mouth very wide and for very long. A closer look and exam would probably need a sedation. Sometimes xrays to see the condition of the jaw, etc. It sure does sound like something is not right if your kitty is having trouble eating. I did have a dental check in office for one of my cats and the vet seemed to think her teeth were fine until they did a cleaning under sedation and found a rotted tooth. So- yes it's possible they could miss something from a quick visual check in office.

I would definitely take her back to the vet for further investigation into this issue. If she cannot eat properly and is drooling, she has something going on in her mouth that needs veterinary intervention. The sooner you get help for her the easier it will be to treat it, in most cases.

I agree with Sqallie's Mom, it sound like she could have tooth pain. Maybe a vet visit to your regular vet tomorrow is in order.

If she hasn't had a tooth cleaning ever, it would be a good idea and while she is under sedation they will be able to really see what is going on and take x-rays if your vet is equipped for dental x=rays. They will also give her some pain medicine to help with the pain because when cats are in pain, they stop eating.
