Teddy is staying right here with us!!!!

My cat, Teddy, is a 10 year old male. He has diabetes and gets his insulin shots twice a day - they've helped him so much!! The problem is, we can't keep him anymore, and no one wants a diabetic cat. We are in Minnesota. Is there anyone out there willing to open their heart and home to our cuddly Teddy?

Can you give us more information - why can't you keep him anymore?

How long has he been diabetic?
Do you test his blood sugar at home?
What insulin are you using and how much?
What food are you feeding?
Any other health issues?

Is there any way that we can help you keep your pal?

Ditto to Phoebe's questions, especially the last one "Is there any way that we can help you keep your pal?"

I run a rescue for diabetic cats, although I don't have a shelter or a foster network. However, I am very interested in trying to help keep you buddy at home, because diabetic cats just aren't getting adopted around here these days.

We found out he was diabetic in June, and thanks to his insulin shot he's gained back all weight and looks so awesome. :) We really can't keep him as we are being forced to move to a place that doesn't allow pets. My husband's parent's are taking our dog, but there is no one to take the cat. We have to move because I lost my job over a year ago, and my husband lost his job in August.
He takes 3 units of insulin a day, and our vet hasn't given him any different food.

He's ok with dogs, cats, and kids.

All - Teddy no longer needs a new home! Instead of having to move, we are able to stay in our house!!!! I am so happy my snuggly guy will stay with us forever!!!!!!! :smile: :-D

How about change the subject line in your first post because this will cheer up a lot of people knowing one kitty gets to keep his home.

I will give him extra hugs and kisses! I'm so relieved... that cat has the greatest personality and attitude of any I've ever met. We only just adopted him not quite a year ago. My husband tells me that it looks like I brought him back from the dead, my poor Teddy was so sick. Now he's even playing with toys! Yesterday he tore through the room at 80mph just for fun and you could have knocked us over with a feather we were so surprised!! Anyways... Teddy is safe at home with us! :razz:
