Hello all,

I'm sure this topic has been brought up a thousand times on this forum, but in the 6-7 pages I just scrolled through, I didn't come across a clear syringe topic. Actually, I might have, but I kept getting side tracked by EVERYTHING else!!!

Anyways, I would love to know everyone's suggestions for good syringes at an affordable price.

For the past year, I have been using Ulticare 3/10cc-31 gauge x 5/16" (they do NOT have half units) and now that I am shooting .75u (Lantus), precision is not on my side. I live in Florida and have access to all of the "regular" pharmacy places, but if you know of better deals via websites...I would love to get the skinny!

Please advise: good syringes, half units, affordable price.

Thank you SO much for any advice/suggestions! ~Deborah

There's a board search function that makes it fairly easy to find threads of a particular topic  The link is at the top of the page: http://felinediabetes.com/FDMB/search.php

Here's a recent thread asking for U100 insulin syringe brands: http://felinediabetes.com/FDMB/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=75199

Do you have a WalMart in the area? Their Relion brand of insulin syringes are what many people here use. The 3/10 cc come with half unit markings and I think it costs about $15 for a box of 100.

AmericanDiabetesWholesale.com is a popular place to buy insulin syringes from. Once you've purchased something from them they will send you emails with coupon cide and sale info. A prescription may be required. I've heard that sometimes they do ask for a prescription, sometimes not. It might depend on your state law requirement for insulin syringes. You can also check Retailmenot.com for coupon codes.

 I guess that would have been easier! But I did enjoy reading some of the other posts!!!!

Fantastic information! Thank you, squeem3!!! I may have to pick up a box at Walmart tomorrow and then start checking out the ADW site. Thank you so much. Hope you're having a wonderful weekend.

I just started using the Walmart 3/10cc ones with the half unit markings and they are great and make it easy for the quarter unit precision for kitty doses

This is so interesting. I went to my Wal-mart today and showed the lady what I had been using and explained what I needed...she brought back a 28 gauge, 1cc, 1/2". I looked at it and thought I was going insane. I re-explained that I needed half units NOT 1/2" needle! UGH! Once she finally figured it out, she checked again and brought an individually wrapped syringe that looked like it would work, but since she didn't bring the box, I couldn't check the gauge, the cc...I finally just gave up.

I'll go back tomorrow and hopefully talk to a knowledgeable sales associate. :YMSIGH:

I use the Shop link at the top of this board (FDMB gets a commission to help cover costs of running the site!) and order Monject from ADW. They are reasonably priced cheaper than any place I'd ought them before - and they are delivered very quickly.
