Oh my, such dirty looks she's giving me. Its been over an hour and a half since she was due to be fed (vet doesn't open till later) and she can't figure out why no breakfast or delicious post poke treats have come her way. Am glad I have a busy day at work today to help keep the fretting down to a minimum nailbite_smile They said they'd call me when she gets out of the procedure.
 
They just sent me a text and an adorably sad picture of her with her leg wrapped up where she got fluids. They said the dental went fine and she's doing fine, though her glucose is a bit high. She didn't have any shot per instructions this AM....I guess its going to be like a fur shot day? She'll get insulin this afternoon?? Anyone have experience with post surgery numbers or is it ECID. Just wondering what to watch for this weekend.
 
They weren't sure initially. She has one canine that has the end broken (she apparently broke it when she was in the shelter from cage anxiety.. :sad: ). Vet looked at it and x-rayed and decided it was OK to stay there as the root was healthy. He said he tries not to remove those as you need to typically remove the other to keep the bite intact. So anyway, short story long, no extractions, so no meds. They actually said they would like me to come get her a little earlier than planned. She's kind of stressed so they hope that going home will help calm her down . (Her bg is apparently up around 400 ). She's awake and fine .
 
My vet had me give a half dose of insulin the morning Spitzer had a dental.

Values may be wonky for a day or so when you resume.
 
Well she's home now and still fairly groggy. I haven't tested her yet...giving her a bit of time to get settled...Turns out they gave her the full dose (3units) at +14 this AM. I'm going to test her around 7 and see if I can back her back an hour tonight. I've given her a couple of small bites of food initially (she hasn't eaten all day) and likely feed her a bit more before I dose. Guess I'll be watching her extra close tonight :-D I asked them to save her ears for me at the vet as they were monitoring her there too, so they did tests off the leg I think...
