swollen lymph nodes

Can feline diabetes lead to swollen lymph nodes in a cat? What range in terms of size would the nodes tend to show up in?

My own diet controlled FD has swollen lymph nodes but it is not a cause of diabetes.

I would have the vet take a sample of the fluid and check it.

We also did bloodwork on Mr. Darcy and found he is positive for Bartonella, I do not know if that is the cause of his swollen lymph nodes, but it could be.

I've never heard of FD causing that. Not to say I suppose it can't, but generally every time I've dealt with swollen lymph nodes it is because of an infection of one sort or another.

I would say if you are aware of lymph nodes, then they are swollen enough to be attended to by a vet. as for terms of size.. guess that would depend on the size of the cats. In kittens they usually feel like peas. when I had a problem with my teeth my own were generally the size of small almonds.

One of my civies used to get a swollen lymph nose in her neck when her teeth were acting up (gingivitus). She also suffers from allergies.

Lymph nodes swell in reaction to an infection. Diabetes is not an infection process, but diabetic cats are more prone to infections because of raised BG levels.

If one of my cats had swollen lymph nodes, we would be heading to the vet pronto.
