I am using vetsulin and the 40 needles. Is there anyway to switch to the 100 needles? The 100 are so much smaller. My boy gives me a run for my money when getting a shot. Tonight it took me almost 15 mins bc he kept squirming n moving.

he gets 3 units so that would be .75. thanks so much. my friend who sent the levimir which wasn't cooled so im not sure if it is any good, but anyway she sent me some syringes that are the u100. they are so much smaller and I think they would hurt him a lot less.

thanks so much.

Glad to help you a little. :)

When it comes time to get further U100 syringes make sure you get the 0.3ml syringes with half-unit markings; makes for easier dose measurement.

I m thinking 3 units of vetsulin is too much for Kuzzie. He is only 7.5 lbs. His initial blood glucose was 336 at 515 pm on april 5. His next reading was 396 at 230p the following Tuesday and she raised him to 3 units. Does this sound normal? the vet initially ordered lantus not sure what the dosage was since I couldn't afford the whole box of the pens so she put him on vetsulin.
How much lantus would be equivalent to vetsulin 3 units?

As some on u may have read jenna found kuzzie a great home. He is only 30mins from me so i can go and visit.
He lives with a diabetic cat, a blind cat, and four ch cats.
He seems to be doing great. They switched him to lantus. I think his last injection was only .75 n his sugar was 183. She is home to test him too. His new mama sends me pic. This morning he was sitting on the table begging for food. Thats my typical kuzzie.

I can go n visit but i know i will want to bring him home n he seems to be blending in well with the cats. His new mama said he follows her hubby around the house which is what he would do with my hubby. He is like a tiny puppy dog. Lol

I hope that Kuzzie will be very happy in his new home, and that in time you'll be comfortable with visiting him. :bighug:

Maybe you can work something out with the people who have Kuzzie now. Like they can teach you how to care for his diabetes and maybe split the supplies? Lantus pens last a good while. All's you needed was a prescription from the vet and you could of ordered from here for way cheaper. https://rxcanada4less.com/index.html

That is a good idea. But id want to keep him. Its also the time factor. She is home all day to monitor him n i am not. I also needed someone to keep him on my vac which is for 11days next month. His blood sugar was 156 today so he is much better. He is getting used to his new fur siblings too. I do love n miss him so much. Sometimes when i think about him i want to cry cause he isnt here. i think just cause i had him when he was a few days old. I think it might be too stress on him switching homes too and getting used to my cats n dogs again n then getting used to her cats again.
