I got my vet to finally try budesonide over the prednisolone. Has anyone else done a switch? Got no instructions other then a pill 2x daily. Just looking for confirmation if this seems like a good dose and when switching do you just one day stop 1 and start another or is it better to switch on and off for a few days?

He is currently on 1.25mg once per day.

Typically one tapers the prednesolone and just does not stop it. However, at your low dose of 1.25 mc SID it may be acceptable to just stop it.
Maybe give the prednesolone ever other day for a few days. It is up to your vet.
Otherwise just start the budesonide. What is dose of the budesonide. The standard dose is 1 mg daily. I have used that dose on three (maybe four I do not remember) of my cats

I can't recall will need to check.
We have tapered down a lot from the original pred dosage upon dx of the IBD. She even said I could do it every other day for two weeks and then stop but I find he still needs the assistance of a steroid. He is stable for the most part.
