Yes the usual thing to do is to do a direct swap from Vetsulin dose to the Lantus dose.
The 2 units is taking him down into the lower blues some of the time. I’m wondering how much lower he is dropping at night as he has had a few quite large drops in the last few days and you haven’t tested again. And one of his nadirs was at +6.
I’m just wondering if maybe a starting dose of 1.75 units might be a better starting dose.
See what others think.

With Lantus you hold the dose for 5 to 7 days initially.
You will also need to choose a dosing method

Sorry I didn't get the tag for some reason. Although I do appreciate being listed and tagged along with that crew, whoa

I try to be active on the forums, welcome newbies, dispense knowledge and tips where I can...but I am not one of the gurus so I don't feel comfortable assisting with this particular question. Maybe someday. I wonder if you edited those tags in, that doesn't seem to work for some reason, usually people don't get the alert.

@Bandit's Mom may be around it's only about 1:45p where she resides :)

I agree with Bron. You might want to start Semglee at a slightly lower dose of 1.75U.
If you are feeding wet food and can test at least twice per cycle you may want to try the TR method. It wil help Alec get to a good dose faster.

You also want to start posting in the Lantus (& Biosimilars) forum (https://www.felinediabetes.com/FDMB/forums/lantus-levemir-biosimilars.9/).

Good luck with Semglee!

@Alec Hi If you can add to your signature Lantus as of 7-7 just so members know. I see you did it on your SS which is good
To add to your signature tap on your name up top then tap on signature and add it then Save . Good luck with the lantus :cat:

Just saw the tag , but I'm not experienced enough to give dosing advice

Alec had soft stools the day before, and last night at 2 am. Had another watery one this morning 8 am

Not sure if related to insulin switch, although lantus change happened after the soft stool began the day before. Any experiences what the reason might be?
Fed FF pate the day before and BFF can yesterday. Yesterday day time was no issue, but fed him 1 spoon BFF can last night around 11pm, seems that lead to soft stool again.

Unlikely to be the insulin causing the soft stools.
Have you tried giving some plain cooked pumpkin for it. Nothing added. I think you can buy canned plain pumpkin in the US.
Try adding 1/2 teaspoon to each meal or 3 X a day.

Could be due to food and other changes just knocked him a little out of whack. Bron mention pumpkin, I think a lot of us also give probiotics. S boulardii is very good for diarrhea, just watch for any additives/sugars. I use Jarrow Brand with MOS.

Just want to be sure you got
Libby's 100% Pure Pumpkin in a can, or any other brand .It is just pumpkin, no seasonings or anything added. NOT PUMPKIN PIE FILLING
