Switched meters and numbers dropped.

I switched from the One Touch Ultra 2 to the Relion Confirm, and Blue's numbers dropped from the 80-120 range to a 76 and a 68 for two tests. I repeated the 76 and got a 72. I don't have control solution, but I tested my blood and got a 99. I changed meters because of the costs of strips, even though Equate brand strips for the Ultra are not bad and seem to work, but they say for meters manufactured before 2012. I had used the strips for the Ultra for quite a while before switching meters.

Have any of you that switched meters had drastic changes in readings? Blue has not had Insulin for several cycles.

I'd get some control solution from the manufacturer. (They usually supply it free if you call). It does look like the numbers are in the same "ball park" and they are all in good OTJ ranges - too low to shoot- so I wouldn't worry.

Thanks. I tested another cat and got a reading of 61, and I may get my vet to do a test in the morning just to compare. I'll get control solution for both meters just in case.
